Q: When do you operate?

A: Our school-year sessions run from September through early June. Our summer program operates from the end of June through early August.

Q: Where are you located?

A: Sessions are conducted at the Enoch Pratt Johnston Square Library.

Q: Do you provide assessments or placement evaluations?

A: Students who do not start at the beginning of the school year are required to take a placement evaluation to determine if the group session will be beneficial, or if they require additional support in one-on-one sessions.

Q: Are sessions one-on-one or group-based?

A: We offer both one-on-one and group-based sessions during the school year; summer sessions are group only. One-on-one sessions run every six weeks, allowing every child in the program a chance at one-on-one sessions.

Q: How long do sessions last?

A: During the school year for grades pre-kindergarten through 1st, sessions are 60 minutes; 2nd grade and up sessions are 90 minutes. During summer, sessions for grades pre-kindergarten-1st are 90 minutes; 2nd grade and up sessions are 120 minutes.

Q: How often do students meet for sessions?

A: Typically, students will meet once a week, but if they are enrolled in both group and one-on-one sessions they will meet twice a week.

Q: What is your turnaround rate for a student's improvement?

A: Students who participate in sessions consecutively, completing homework and/or recommended work from Ms. Sasha, parents will see results in 6 weeks.

Q: How do you communicate my child's progress with me?

A: Ms.Sasha takes weekly dates based on assignments and exit tickets; check-ins and updates are usually had with parents every 6-8 weeks, depending on the child; each child is different, so it varies.

Q: Do you help with homework or only teach specific subjects?

A: The goal during the school year is to cover what students are learning in school, and most times, we can incorporate homework. Students enrolled in the program have free access to homework assistance on an as-needed basis.

Q: What happens if my child misses a session?

A: If a student is absent or we are closed, unused sessions from a purchased bundle package will roll over to the following week, ensuring that you do not lose that credit. We try our best to schedule makeup sessions only when sessions are canceled on our end. If a makeup is not possible, students resume their session the following week.
